St. Therese parishioners pitch in to help people in need

MOORESVILLE — Members of St. Therese Parish have been enthusiastically taking part in multiple “Acts of Charity” in celebration of the Diocese of Charlotte’s 50th anniversary.

The parish kicked off its year-long charity efforts earlier this year with the staff giving flower baskets to the needy, ill and homebound – providing some much-appreciated beauty and cheer.

Confirmation students collected an impressive 1,857 toiletries items for Mooresville Kindness Closet, an organization lessening the financial strain of people in need by providing essential household and hygiene items.

The students also collected 927 food items for Pinky Swear, a local foundation supporting children with cancer and their families.

The parish’s Knights of Columbus council also hosted a blood drive where 45 parishioners gave 42 pints of blood.

And St. Therese’s Community Ministries collected an array of essential household items, including laundry detergent, toiletries, diapers, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, cleaning products for Fifth Street Ministries, Christian Mission and Kindness Closet to distribute to people across Iredell County.
