A heartfelt thanks  Our Lady of the Mountains Church in Highlands and St. Jude Church in Sapphire for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Diocese of Charlotte by conducting diaper drives to help mothers in need aided by Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte.

Our Lady of the Mountains Parish secretary, Lori McCarley, is pictured with 32 boxes of diapers totaling more than 5,500 diapers, donated by parishioners of the Highland parish community.

St. Jude Church in Sapphire Valley also conducted a very successful diaper drive in August to celebrate the diocese’s 50th anniversary. Jesse Boeckermann, Catholic Charities’ Western Region Office Director, is pictured at the church with 11  full boxes of diapers and 32 packages of diapers donated by St. Jude parishioners.

Special thanks to Father Jason Barone, pastor of both churches, for his willingness to welcome this opportunity, and to both parish secretaries, Lory McCarley at Our Lady of the Mountains and Dawn Swilling at St. Jude, for coordinating this outreach.
